Eighteen down, 54 to play in the penultimate chance for those battling for the playoffs.
Jacob Bridgeman is among those battling for the title. The PGA Tour rookie, who began the week ranked 135th in the FedEx Cup standings, had nine birdies Thursday and shot 63 to lead the 3M Open. A victory this week would propel him into the top 70, where he must be in three weeks to qualify for the FedEx St. Jude Championship, the first of three playoff events.
Mackenzie Hughes is one shot back in second. Andrew Novak, Patrick Rodgers and Martin Trainer are tied for third at 6-under par, two shots back. Defending champion Lee Hodges shot a 2-over 73.
The 3M Opem 2024 purse is $8.1 million, including $1.48 million for the winner.
